Brick Repair & Replacement

Bricks crack, spall and fall out for a reason: water, freeze and thaw, settlement, impact or moisture trapped behind the wall. Replacing the brick without finding the cause only means doing the job twice.

We look for the source, correct it where we can, remove damaged units without harming their neighbors and lay matching brick with mortar to suit. For Nashville homes with older brick, finding a close match can take some searching, and we show you samples before we start.

Common questions about brick repair & replacement

Why are my bricks flaking?

Spalling is usually caused by water getting into the brick and freezing, or by hard mortar and sealers trapping moisture. We look at the whole wall to find the cause.

Will the new bricks match?

We aim for a close match and bring samples. Weathered brick is hard to match perfectly, and we are upfront about that.

Is a crack above a window serious?

Often it is a failed or missing lintel or a settlement crack. We assess it and tell you if a structural engineer should look.
